Our News and Reviews
On this page we will be presenting reviews of different sorts, and the first review we want to do is one for the VIP resteraunt in Bronston, Ky. It has been one of our favorite and special places to eat for 8 years now...we meet there with friends and family, or just a quiet lunch just the two of us. The VIP is a quaint little MOM and POP business with a homey atmosphere...home-cooking and service with a smile! My wife and I were on our way to enjoy a day at the Cumberland Falls and wanted to get an early start. As I said the VIP is one of our favorite places so we decided to stop for a bite of lunch and since it was on our way ( sort of, if you know where it is however, know we went just about a mile out our way :) but also know it is well worth the trip!
Mechelle was our waitress this past Wensday at the VIP and, we were very happy with the speedy service, and again met another friendly face...she shared with us how much she liked her job because it allowed her to meet interesting folks from all over. You can tell if someone really enjoys their job or if they are there to just get a paycheck, and this waitress is one of those who enjoyed serving people, making them comfortable, waiting on tables and overseeing the needs of her customers Thank you Mechelle!
Bronston is situated on the stretch between Somerset and Monticello (Lake Cumberland) House Boat Capital of the World, one way in and one way out of this little hot spot! So the majority of this traffic flows right past the VIP...so the vast array of construction workers, tourists, and truck drivers make for a nice variety of visitors...but after a couple of visits you will feel like family!
Any how back to our lunch, and the start of a very nice day. We were both in the mood for a Cheeseburger Plate complete with VIPs own recipe Cole Slaw It is the BOMB! As Phyllis puts it :0 I happen to like it too. Our order arrived at our table 6 minutes after we put in our order and the fries were fresh and hot and, the slaw was cold and the burgers were very tasty! We both thought it would be a great idea to share our favorite little eatery with our visitors here on our web-site and, if you ever get a chance and you are in the area of Burnside Island, Somerset, or the Lake Cumberland region, please be sure to stop in and tell the Singing Evangelists sent you OK?
